PHILOSOPHY

What the f*ck is a switch unnat double cork 1260° stalefish grab? Or a left lip 2 front swap pretz 2? These are the questions we'd like to answer! Our goal is to create an online platform to educate people about freeskiing tricks.

Eventhough freeskiing is getting more and more popular and people start to watch it on television, there is still a huge barrier in understanding the sport and it's tricks. There are so many different variations of every trick that it takes time to learn and see the difference between these tricks. That's where we want to pick up.

Our website should contain two main sections. The dictionary section tries to explain all the different trick and slang words in an easy language. We start by declaring the amount and direction of the rotations and flips, and go on to explain the words like cork, blender or k-fed. The library section on the other hand should contain a huge number of videos showing almost every trick imaginable. On top of those videos, there is a filter section where you can decide the amount of rotation and flips, the flip-axis, the grab, etc. so you only see videos of the tricks you want. You could for example pick direction: switch, rotation: 540° and axis: cork and you'd see only clips of different sw cork 5's.
Because we want the library to be as complete as possible, we can not film all the clips by ourselves. That's why we embedded different clips from YouTube. That way we'd have clips of hundreds of different skiing tricks, professionally filmed and performed by well known skiers.
