The story of one plastic bottle
One Plastic Bottle follows the journey of a single plastic bottle from the factory to what happens after it has been thrown to the ground and not disposed correctly. Showing how a brief moment of use can lead to long-lasting environmental consequences. Through calm narration and factual visuals, the film highlights plastic pollution, microplastics, and the importance of responsible disposal and recycling.
I hope this video gets the viewer to reflect on their own actions.
Working on One Plastic Bottle helped me understand how everyday objects can be used to tell meaningful stories about global issues. By focusing on a single plastic bottle, I learned that complex topics like plastic pollution and microplastics can be communicated more clearly and effectively through a simple, relatable perspective.
The project also made me more aware of my own habits around plastic use and disposal. Following the bottle’s journey from use to environmental impact highlighted how small choices, like recycling, can have long-term consequences. As a result, this project was not only a creative exercise but also a learning experience that changed how I think about responsibility and sustainability.

One of the main challenges of this project was balancing emotional impact with factual accuracy. I wanted the story to be engaging without exaggerating the issue, so I focused on real processes, such as the bottle’s lifespan and the formation of microplastics. This helped me improve my research skills and think more critically about how information is presented in media.
Overall, this project strengthened my digital storytelling skills and showed me how visual media can be used to raise awareness and encourage reflection on environmental issues.
