Chur and its history
Chur – A City Shaped by Time
Chur is known as Switzerland’s oldest city, with a history that stretches back thousands of years. From its beginnings as a Roman settlement to its role as a regional center in the Alps, the city has continuously evolved while preserving traces of its past. Walking through Chur today means moving through layers of history embedded in streets, buildings, and public spaces.
Exploring History Through Photography
This project explores Chur through photography, focusing on architecture, streets, and details that reflect the city’s historical character. Rather than presenting Chur as a tourist destination, the photographs aim to document its everyday atmosphere and quiet moments.
This website was created as a space to collect and present a photographic exploration of Chur and its history. The aim was to document the city through images that highlight how historical architecture and urban spaces continue to shape everyday life.
